On Friday May 16th Stephanie and I had our first Friday wedding of the year. As we set out to have a great time at the wedding we were confronted with a large dark cloud that threatened rain. However, this was a beautiful couple and before we knew it the sun was poking out from behind the cloud. Needless to say the photographs show it all and how wonderful they day went. Devonne and Nefertari

This was a wedding to die for. Devonne and Tari got dressed at the new Trump hotel with a view straight out into lake Michigan and Navy Pier. The reception would be held on the rooftop floor of the Harold Washington Library and the Cherry on top was a wonderful session in Millennium Park.

Sebastian is Growing

We spent the weekend in Atlanta with both of our nephews. My wife’s sister brought her two kids to town to see the Grandparents while they attended a wedding. I also got to spend some time with little Sebastian. He is really growing up. He is holding his own bottle now and sitting on his own. And of course. . . baby talk. I can’t tell if he is singing a song or telling someone off but he certainly says a mouth full!

Meet Stephanie

This past week we photographed the soon to be Rev Dr Stephanie. She is currently pursing her doctorate and ordination in Atlanta, Georgia. I have known Stephanie for years and I thought this would be a great session to have during the off wedding season. I had just returned from WPPI and was very inspired to do some new photographing as well as work on our workflow along with our retouching. Some of the images that Stephanie took during her session were truly classic and timeless. I think she will truly enjoy placing these images in her home in Atlanta. This was a wonderful photo session because of the entire crew that worked had behind the scenes besides myself. Niehla O (http://www.niehlao.com/) provided some extraordinary make-up artistry. Niehla works for MAC Cosmetics. Stephanie provided her own wardrobe. Two of which she custom designed and made herself.

WPPI -Las Vegas

Meet Jasmine
Friday I traveled to Las Vegas for the annual WPPI Convention. But before the convention began, I was honored to be able to Photograph Jasmine Ejan. Jasmine has a very distinguished resume where she was the featured dancer in Celine Dion’s “A New Day,” a featured singer on The Tonight Show and Oprah’s Live in Vegas to name a few. We wanted to do something with Jasmine that would represent the region of Vegas so we traveled out of the city to Red Rock Canyon. Red Rock Canyon is less than an hour away from the Las Vegas strip. It features a very scenic mountain area with very vivid red rock.
After consulting with Jasmine we headed out to Red Rock Canyon to have what was an outstanding photo session. Jasmine had and aura and energy that was amazing and it showed in her photographs. Here are a couple of her shots in both traditional dance outfits as well as some more traditional heritage outfits as well. Thanks Jasmine

First Wedding of 2008

2008 wedding season has begun. Our first wedding started of with a bang! Dr. William and Jennifer McDade wed today Feb 9th. with a high of only 34 degrees and a cloudy overcast. A photographers dream right? Well I will let you be the judge of that. Some of Jennifer’s best are posted below along with Doc William who we made a fashion model for GQ for the day :)

Westin O’hare Bridal Expo

Cold temperatures today in Chicago wait wait. Hold up back up. . . frigid bitter cold temperatures in Chicago on Sunday January 20th, but that did not stop the brides from getting out and planning for their weddings. We showcased today at the Westin O’hare Bridal Expo and it was a wonderful show. Total attendance exceeded 300 brides getting married in the Chicagoland area for 2008, 2009 and some 2010 weddings. I give a very good thank you to Vivian Stahl Durdov!! She was a tremendous help for us today in speaking with the brides and explaining the photography process. She did a wonderful job as she just got married herself!!

Studio Final Phase

Well we are finally here! Our final phase of the new studio build out. We have started building our final office space on the lower level. This will allow us to have all of our offices and production away from the studio and the gallery area. This will free up a lot of much needed space. Our main level and second level will be open for art exhibits, photo sessions and social gatherings. My father began framing the last area. I give a lot of praise to him as we loves working on projects such as this. I have posted a few photographs of the initial process!!

Ryan and Rebecca

As I sated before to stay tuned for more images from Ryan and Rebecca’s wedding in Cancun. I have posted some of the images that we photographed on the second day. Much love to Rebecca for getting dressed all over again after the wedding. We spent about four hours around the resort just having a ton of fun photographing with no worries. As you can see in the photos they didn’t hold back!

Cancun Wedding

What a way to wind up the year. My wife and I went to Mexico for one of our last wedding of the year. Ryan and Rebecca were a blast. We flew in on Friday before the wedding that Saturday.
